CASE STUDY 7 - FINANCIAL SYSTEMS

 

 

A client had grown over the years and had developed sophisticated Customer Relationship Management Systems to manage the complex and varied demands of its clients. Its financial systems and processes, however, had not evolved or developed much beyond the very basic tools that the company had in use from its earliest days.

 

Financial information in this environment is always "old news" and cannot be used to help look forward and manage the business

 

South Eastern Business Services has: 

  • re-designed and documented financial processes - this of itself has generated some "quick wins" with improved financial controls and cost management.
  • introduced the need to close books monthly and produce meaningful forecasts
  • identified and demonstrated alternate options for new finance systems
  • carried out net present value comparisons for alternate solutions
  • recommended the best solution for the business

and is expecting to lead the implementation project which will convert the finance department from just being "score keepers" to being a value adding business department
